The award-winning event returns on Sunday 29 January, raising awareness and funds for the rising homelessness crisis. In partnership with the festival organisers, we’re proud to have Confetti students involved supporting the planning and delivery of this year’s event.

‘Time to Talk’ day 2023 will be held on Thursday 2 February. Time to Talk day is ran by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.

As part of its continuing programme of ON TOUR live events, Production Futures will visit our campus on Monday 23 January. We’ll have lots of world-leading experts exhibiting and providing talks on a range of interesting topics, including virtual production.

We caught up with one of the documentary makers, Film & TV Production – BTEC Level 3 student, Gabi Petrenaite. Gabi produced her story with her Dad, whose passion for sustainability and water conservation has clearly inspired her.

Graduates from our Visual Effects courses are celebrating after landing jobs with notable VFX companies working on upcoming blockbusters like “the Batman”, and a new Tom Hardy Netflix film, “Havoc”.

Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies recently hosted two international esports tournaments, including the first in-studio Halo Infinite esports broadcast. Thanks to the efforts of Confetti students, their tutors and the Confetti Tech Team, the activities raised over £5,000 for Maggie’s cancer care charity.

Left Bank Pictures have recently wrapped production on a new ITV drama, “Without Sin”, featuring Line of Duty star Vicky McClure. Confetti graduate, Ben Raven, talks about his experiences being part of the production team.

Famous musical family from Nottingham, the Kanneh-Masons, have recently filmed their Christmas TV special at Confetti’s live performance venue, Metronome. “A Musical Family Christmas with the Kanneh-Masons” has been produced for BBC Two and will air on Christmas Day at 8.35pm.

Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies is set to make Nottingham an emerging UK centre for esports through its world-class esports production facilities. In January 2022 Confetti will be hosting two exciting esports events: ‘Halo Clash Series’ and the Rainbow Six Siege ‘Memevitational’.

Games Art students from Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies are set to provide research and development support to Stone Sword Games in early 2022. The support comes fresh off the back of their £1 million crowdfunding campaign for their new tabletop duelling game, Senjutsu.

Nottingham’s biggest outdoor event celebrated its ninth year on Saturday 23 July 2016 with performances from Jamie Lawson, UB40 and Jess Glynne amongst many others. The much anticipated Fallout 4 video game was released on the 10th of November across the UK. Level 3 Game Art student Rowan Unsworth used her talent and skills to surprise customers at the GAME store midnight launch event in Long Eaton.   October’s GameCity festival saw professionals and fans of gaming jet in from around the world to enjoy talks, workshops and to take part in the latest innovations in gaming technology. The GameCity event is held annually here in Nottingham and, as ever, Confetti students were on hand to assist with the events. Student ambassadors worked with school children to help inspire them and consider a future in gaming by assisting in a series of Minecraft EDU workshops which saw children build their own version of Nottingham. Supernatural paid a special visit to Confetti to free-style with our students and pass on his words of advice. Ex-Confetti student Harleighblu is celebrating this week after releasing her debut album. Entitled “Forget me not”, Harleighblu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of some of Nottingham’s musical alumni including Dog Is Dead and Jake Bugg. Harleighblu studied Level 3 Music Technology here at Confetti and all her previous tutors speak incredibly highly of her and her talent. Students studying music technology at Confetti followed in some famous musical footsteps yesterday when they spent the day at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Level 3 Music Technology Rock and Live students from Confetti had the experience of a lifetime when they took part in a recording session at Abbey Road Studio 2. Studio 2 is where the Beatles recorded their material. Interactive entertainment company, Crytek recently launched a creative competition for students in association with the British Library and GameCity. “Off the Map” is challenging students from participating universities and colleges to create interactive environments from a selection of British Library maps, using Crytek’s free CryENGINE 3 SDK. The Old Robots, The Sleepwalking Robots, Project Stigma and Team Nameless are the Confetti ICT teams that have been participating in the challenge. A brand new Nottingham course in Technical Events Production has received the endorsement of Mark Cann, Michael Eavis’ second in command at Glastonbury Festival. In recommending the new BTEC extended diploma, he described it as “a fantastic launch pad for a technical career in events production.” Confetti is a custom-designed facility which specialises in courses in Music Technology, TV & Film production and Games Technology. Students at Confetti welcomed a special visitor yesterday in the shape of Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. He was in Nottingham looking at how Government City Deal money of £60m could benefit creative businesses and young people. He was taken on a tour of Confetti and the Antenna Creative Business Centre by Confetti Media Group boss Craig Chettle.
