2020-21 British Esports Championships hosted at Metronome

Wednesday April 28, 2021

Confetti is once again partnering with the British Esports Association, to deliver a live grand final for the 2020-21 British Esports Championships.

The Championships are a series of competitive gaming tournaments for students aged 12+ in schools and colleges across the UK. Its three age-appropriate team-based games are League of Legends, Overwatch and Rocket League.

The grand finals will be hosted at Metronome, Confetti’s live events venue on Saturday 3 July 2021.

The grand finals will be an exciting all-day event, with each final played on stage. Plus, there’ll be interview and practice areas as well as pop-ups and activities for students to get involved in.

Those crowned champions at the event will receive wining jerseys, trophies and professional coaching from some of the UK’s top esports teams.

The finals will give student teams the valuable experience of performing on stage to a live audience, as well as online viewers via the British Esports Twitch channel and Confetti’s Twitch channel.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, students had to play their Championship matches remotely so the live finals will give British Esports the opportunity to celebrate student achievements and skills after a challenging year.

The announcement that Confetti will host the BEA Championships finals follows the recent news that Confetti will be launching its own cutting-edge esports complex in Nottingham later this year.

Confetti offers the BSc (Hons) Esports Production degree and the level 3 BTEC in Esports Production and the BEA Championships finals will give the students on these courses a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience of the esports industry.
