On Saturday 20 July, Nottingham’s biggest live music event Splendour Festival returns to Wollaton Park for the 11th year running, and we’re excited to once again be a part of it! Last year over 50 students worked alongside our technical teams to help make Splendour 2018 a fantastic event.
Splendour 2019 will see legendary acts perform at Nottingham’s own Wollaton Park
This year, the world-renowned bands Manic Street Preachers and The Specials have been revealed as the first headliners of Splendour 2019.
Manic Street Preachers were the most demanded band by Splendour fans when surveyed by the festival’s organisers – DHP – and it’s no surprise why. Throughout the band’s illustrious career, they headlined a number of festivals including Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and have won a whole host of awards including 11 NMEs and four Brit awards. The Specials are one of the most electrifying, influential and important bands of all time and return to Splendour hot on the heels of a special 40th anniversary tour celebrating their formation and the two-tone label.
Organisers are delighted to have both bands topping the bill at this year’s festival, with the presence of such renowned artists showing just how much the event’s standing in the UK festival scene has grown over the years.
George Akins, DHP Family owner, said: “Manic Street Preachers and The Specials are two legendary bands and have made a huge mark on the UK music scene. We’re delighted to have them both with us on the main stage at Splendour celebrating two very special anniversaries. The crowd can expect a belter set of some of their greatest hits.”
