Industry Week 2021 – lineup announcement!

With #IW21 just around the corner, our students are set to be inspired once more by big names from the worlds of film, TV, music and games. With more and more guests being announced, let us fill you in on some of the incredible line-up…

Noel Clarke and Russell T Davies

BAFTA-winning actor and director Noel Clarke and acclaimed screenwriter Russell T Davies will be joined by over fifty industry guests who will deliver a week-long programme of masterclasses, workshops, talks and demos – all streamed live online.

Noel Clarke has starred in productions including Star Trek and Doctor Who, as well as acting and directing in the popular Brotherhood and Adulthood. More recently, he has co-created and starred in Bulletproof on Sky.

Russell T Davies has received acclaim over the years for his work on Doctor Who, Queer as Folk and Cucumber, amongst other projects. Most recently, he has been the screenwriter behind hit series It’s A Sin on Channel 4.

Music engineer extrordinaire Susan Rogers and Games legends John & Brenda Romero

Joining live from her studio in Hollywood on March 8 is music legend Susan Rogers. Susan was Prince’s recording engineer in his imperial phase working on albums such as Sign ‘o The Times and Purple Rain before working with other artists such as Tricky and David Byrne.

Confetti’s games cohort can enjoy talks from John and Brenda Romero, whose work on games including Doom, Quake and Fortnite amongst others has led to multiple game of the year awards and even a BAFTA Special Award.

Over 50 more inspirational guests lined-up

Other industry speakers include Brit Award-winning drum and bass band Rudimental, the man who produced for David Bowie, T Rex and Thin Lizzy – Tony Visconti – who will be interviewed by comedian Adam Buxton, and Trevor Plunkett – tour manager for the likes of George Ezra and David Gray. You can also enjoy a talk from Nottingham Trent University alumnus – and world-famous artist – Jon Burgerman, known for his distinctive doodles, murals and characters.
