Confetti building scoops award at East Midlands Property Dinner

Friday September 13, 2019

On Thursday 12 September, Confetti picked up the Design Excellence Award at the East Midlands Property Dinner for the newly built Digital Media Hub.

Confetti’s Digital Media Hub – ‘Confetti HQ’ – was built back in 2018 to provide a new centre for students. Housing a café, LRC, motion capture suite, classrooms and even a roof terrace, the building has previously won an award for sustainability, and now has been recognised for its design, balancing form and function.

Waterman Group were responsible for engineering the build, with Allan Joyce working as the architects on the project and Pulse Consult providing surveying services. Check out what Waterman Group had to say about the project here.

Jonathan Purcell – Chartered Building Services Engineer at Waterman Group (L), Toby Evison – Associate Director at Allan Joyce (R)

Chief Technology Officer Joe Duckhouse – who project-managed the build – attended the awards at De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre.

“We’d like to thank everyone involved on the project for creating such a success story. This build has provided students and staff with a modern, inspiring space for learning and innovation in the creative technologies, and we’re immensely proud to have picked up another award for its design.”

The second award for this building in 2019 alone, it’s safe to say that its presence has made a positive impact on Nottingham city centre’s landscape. Take a look at some of our favourite photos of the building…

Students at Confetti enjoy an amazing city-centre campus with state-of-the-art buildings and equipment. Check out more about the buildings on our campus here.
