New scholarship setup for Confetti students in partnership with Tileyard Education

Wednesday October 13, 2021

A new Songwriting Camp scholarship has been created for our 3rd year BSc (Hons) Audio & Music Technology and BA (Hons) Music Performance students in partnership with our friends at Tileyard Education.

Tileyard will be providing an industry brief for our year 3 Audio and Music Technology and Music Performance students to develop a track to the brief, with supportive sessions provided by Confetti staff. This will be followed by a shortlisting process in a Professional Tileyard A&R listening panel early next year. The winners will go to London in April 2022 to take part in Tileyard’s Songwriting Camp. Travel and hotel will be included in the award.

“Tileyard Education Songwriting Camps are a great way to develop your craft writing to live commercial briefs and build crucial co-writer and producer collaborations. We are delighted to be working closely with CICT and look forward to meeting you and eventually hearing your music.” Harry Leckstein, Managing Director, Tileyard Education

How to apply

In order to apply students should use the Tileyard supplied brief to write a submission. This could be collaborative: for example one person may write the music and produce and another might write the topline and lyrics. You will need to identify your contribution of part of this submissions process.

Nearer to the deadline, our Music Curriculum Lead John Meredith will curate Soundcloud links for the A&R panel shortlisting process.

Final winners will be decided based on the panel and course engagement.

‘The Tileyard Scholarship is a great way to recognise Confetti students with the potential to work in the professional songwriting world: something the Tileyard complex in Kings Cross thrives defines!’ John Meredith, Music Curriculum Lead
