Our Celebrate 2019 Review

Friday July 12, 2019

On Thursday 11 July, we enjoyed a really successful student showcase of our college-level students’ work. Friends and family were welcomed to come and view the range of exciting work that has been produced over the past year. Let’s take a look at what the day entailed…

Showcasing student work and our range of courses

The showcase gave students an opportunity to present their amazing work to family and friends, and what’s more the event was a chance for the public to see the incredible opportunities that are on offer when you study with us at Confetti. We hope the event inspired people and perhaps a few people came away thinking they may like to enrol on one of our fantastic creative courses too.

Musical performances

Visitors were met with acoustic performances from students at Confetti Reception which provided a warm welcome to all guests.

Student band Clonk – winners of NTU’s Battle of the Bands 2018 – played a full rock ‘n’ roll set at Metronome for all to enjoy. Many other talented student bands performed – check out some shots of them in action.

All performances were managed and supported by our hard working Live & Technical Events students.

Projects on display

This year’s showcase included work from all subject areas, and visitors were able to enjoy projects ranging from experiencing an American diner in virtual reality, watching a collection of short horror films, listening to student albums and EPs, learning about projection-mapping techniques for festivals and much more.

Our Games students displayed their playable games, demos, original games designs and artwork.

Not forgetting the creativity shown through our students’ ‘1920s America’ and ‘post-apocalyptic’ themed core skills projects that were on show in form of poetry, lyrics, short stories, storyboards and more.

Awards ceremony

The day was tied together with an awards ceremony to recognise this years’ outstanding students. Subject areas were able to reward their best creatives with a certificate to congratulate them on their hard work throughout the year. Well done to all winners, and to all students who took part – we saw some incredible work this year, and we can’t wait to see what our students go on to do next!
