The Young Creative Awards is now open for all aged 13 to 24 and Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies is proud to be a sponsor of the event. The awards aim to showcase talent within Nottingham and help further the creative industry careers of young people. Confetti Urban and Electronic Year 2 student Kyle Wytchwood, has been nominated for two awards at the Hardcore Heaven awards 2013. Kyle has been nominated for breakthrough producer and breakthrough DJ and it’s safe to say his tutors and fellow students couldn’t be more delighted for him. As if you didn’t need another reason to come to Confetti, we’ve had world famous rapper Supernatural drop in and surprise our Year 2 Urban and Electronic Production students. Supernatural paid a special visit to Confetti to free-style with our students and pass on his words of advice. MC Supernatural has gained worldwide attention for his incredible free-styling and battle rap skills and he even holds the Guinness World Record for longest free-style rap which lasted over 9 hours! Ex-Confetti student Harleighblu is celebrating this week after releasing her debut album. Entitled “Forget me not”, Harleighblu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of some of Nottingham’s musical alumni including Dog Is Dead and Jake Bugg. Harleighblu studied Level 3 Music Technology here at Confetti and all her previous tutors speak incredibly highly of her and her talent. Harleighblu is now hoping her album release will become the first of many successes and Monday saw a Twitter campaign to help rally support for Harleighblu and help her gain as much national and international attention online as possible. Confetti Degree Showcase 2013 finished on a high yesterday as winners of multiple awards were announced at the Showcase Awards Ceremony in the Antenna Bar and Restaurant. The Showcase event started at 3pm at Confetti ICT, where Higher Education students had the chance to showcase their talent and their projects produced throughout the year.
