Jeanie Finlay came to Industry Week here at Confetti and gave a great talk on filmmaking. Now, she’s about to release a documentary following the final series of Game of Thrones that she has both directed and produced.

One week after the series finale, the documentary ‘Game of Thrones – The Last Watch’ will be aired on HBO, produced and directed by Jeanie Finlay from her office in Broadway Cinema, Nottingham.

Made with unprecedented access, the documentary is an up-close look into the production behind this fantastic series. From mad work schedules to behind-the-scenes hilarity, panics and the sense of community among the cast members – this programme promises not to disappoint. Not only this, but the documentary will show the journey of the immense work that goes into creating this other universe for a series, before having to wave it goodbye after the final episode.

Jeanie had this to say:

Making Game Of Thrones: The Last Watch was the ultimate filmmaking challenge – filming for 14 months in multiple countries, in extreme weather, with a cast of 2000 people, and an enthusiastic fanbase hungry for spoilers. All of this in complete secrecy. I had to trust my gut instincts as a director and remember the trust that had been shown in me by Bernie Caulfield, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to tell the story of the making of the last season of Game Of Thrones. I’m excited to see how the film I’ve made will be received all over the world.”

Calling all Game of Thrones fans – make sure you tune in to HBO on Sunday 26 May at 9pm. You won’t want to miss it!
