Confetti ICT Music students were visited by famous 80’s producer, Phil Harding last month. From the early age of 16, Phil has been working in the music industry working alongside top producers of the 70’s. He has produced some of the biggest names in the industry including Pet Shop Boys, BoyZone and Kylie Minogue. As if you didn’t need another reason to come to Confetti, we’ve had world famous rapper Supernatural drop in and surprise our Year 2 Urban and Electronic Production students. Supernatural paid a special visit to Confetti to free-style with our students and pass on his words of advice. MC Supernatural has gained worldwide attention for his incredible free-styling and battle rap skills and he even holds the Guinness World Record for longest free-style rap which lasted over 9 hours! Recently Confetti alumni Victoria Van Garrett appeared on BBC Radio Nottingham to discuss her role as part of GameCity and why she’s so determined to teach school children about games development. Ex-Confetti student Harleighblu is celebrating this week after releasing her debut album. Entitled “Forget me not”, Harleighblu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of some of Nottingham’s musical alumni including Dog Is Dead and Jake Bugg. Harleighblu studied Level 3 Music Technology here at Confetti and all her previous tutors speak incredibly highly of her and her talent. Tonight in Sheffield 2012 Industry Week guest Jeanie Finlay will introduce her latest feature film to a packed audience at Sheffield’s Showroom Cinema. The Great Hip Hop Hoax brings the audacious story of Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd to the big screen. After studying together at Dundee College they managed to fool the music industry into believing they were Californian hip hop artists “Silibil n Brains” . Confetti Degree Showcase 2013 finished on a high yesterday as winners of multiple awards were announced at the Showcase Awards Ceremony in the Antenna Bar and Restaurant. The Showcase event started at 3pm at Confetti ICT, where Higher Education students had the chance to showcase their talent and their projects produced throughout the year.
