Phil Harding (2)

Confetti ICT Music students were visited by famous 80’s producer, Phil Harding last month. From the early age of 16, Phil has been working in the music industry working alongside top producers of the 70’s. He has produced some of the biggest names in the industry including Pet Shop Boys, BoyZone and Kylie Minogue.

Phil came to speak to students on two different courses: FdSc in Music Technology, and BSc Audio & Recording Technology on Tuesday 15th October. Andy King, Subject Leader in Music Technology said “We were delighted to welcome Phil Harding back to Confetti. His talk was a fantastic insight into the music industry for our degree students. Phil gave them some excellent advice on how to get ahead, alongside some pitfalls to watch out for

Students studying the two courses were thrilled to have the Chair of JAMES [Joint Audio Media Education Support] speak to them about the benefits of the accreditation, alongside giving them an insight into the music industry. ‘The best thing about the talk was gaining industry knowledge from someone who knows it like the back of his hand. Also finding out the characteristics employers are looking for.
Matthew Burrows – FdSc Music Technology Student.

That is where the students’ normal timetable is replaced with a week of lectures, workshops and master-classes delivered by top creative industry names.  Details of Industry Week 2014 will be revealed soon.
