Self-Injury Awareness

Tuesday March 9, 2021

Monday 1 March was Self-injury awareness day. Recent research suggests that 6.4% of people aged 16-74 have self-harmed at some point in their lives. Self-harm and self-injury do not discriminate on age, gender, race or disability. It is important that you support not only your mental health, but manage the physical injury.

If you are concerned about your own self-injury/harm or you are worried about that of others, please reach out to our Student Services Team. They are contactable from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday-Friday via studentservicesreferrals@confetti.ac.uk or phone 0115 9522075.

As a Confetti student you can also make a referral for yourself or someone else using the button below.

Student Services will only respond during our working hours. Outside of these hours, you should speak to a trusted adult, call your GP during their usual working hours, present at your Local A&E Department or dial, 999.

If you just need someone to talk to and are not at risk/crisis/in medical difficulty, you can sign up for Togetherall using your Confetti email address and/or contact the following services:

  • Samaritans- Call 116 123
  • Shout Crisis Text Line- Text ‘SHOUT’ to 85258 or Text ‘YM’, if you’re under 19 years old
