Confetti at Splendour Festival – Do It For Real
On one of the hottest days of 2016, 21,000 people gathered in Wollaton Park for Splendour Festival. Nottingham’s biggest outdoor event celebrated its ninth year on Saturday 23 July 2016 with performances from Jamie Lawson, UB40 and Jess Glynne amongst many others. Confetti was once again a main sponsor and our students worked alongside our technical teams to help bring Splendour festival to life. The Confetti Stage hosted big names, such as The Fratellis, The Rifles and headline act The Darkness, whilst Confetti-band Super Furniture opened the main stage after winning the Future Sound of Nottingham accolade. Confetti Students Win Big at Nottingham Young Creative Awards

Hundreds of people attended the 8th Nottingham Young Creative Awards, which aim to give people aged 13 to 24 who live, study or work in Nottingham the chance to show off their creative work, network with future employers and gain valuable industry experience and mentoring. This year a record 350 young creatives submitted their work in 10 different categories to meet the ‘Goals and Dreams’ theme. FdSc Film Production Technology Students’ Big Screen Debut
Confetti’s 2nd year FdSc Film Production Technology students had an assessment with a difference this week, when they presented their own Digital Cinema Packages on the screens at The Broadway Cinema, Nottingham. For the purpose of this assessment, students were tasked to create a trailer for Nottingham’s Mayhem Film Festival, a yearly four-day event - showcasing horror, sci-fi and cult feature films from around the world. Students were briefed by the festival’s directors and had to pitch their trailers and review ideas in regular meetings throughout the weeks leading up to assessment day.
