Interactive entertainment company, Crytek recently launched a creative competition for students in association with the British Library and GameCity. “Off the Map” is challenging students from participating universities and colleges to create interactive environments from a selection of British Library maps, using Crytek’s free CryENGINE 3 SDK. The Old Robots, The Sleepwalking Robots, Project Stigma and Team Nameless are the Confetti ICT teams that have been participating in the challenge. A brand new Nottingham course in Technical Events Production has received the endorsement of Mark Cann, Michael Eavis’ second in command at Glastonbury Festival. In recommending the new BTEC extended diploma, he described it as “a fantastic launch pad for a technical career in events production.” Confetti is a custom-designed facility which specialises in courses in Music Technology, TV & Film production and Games Technology.
