An Interview with Music Performance student BRIA

Over the last few months, Music Performance student BRIA has been working on a new single with help from an established producer who has worked with Depeche Mode, and our Audio and Music Technology and Film and TV students. We caught up with her to discuss the single, and what she has planned for the future.

What did you realise you wanted to become a singer/songwriter?

BRIA: I can’t ever remember a time when I wasn’t sure what career path I wanted to take because nothing has ever compared to music. All the way through school, I knew I wanted to be a singer so I never considered anything else. It wasn’t until I started at Confetti that I realised my passion for songwriting and have been lucky enough to have some incredible opportunities which have allowed and encouraged me to share the love for music.

Why did you chose Confetti to study what you love?

BRIA: After spending my college years at Confetti, I knew that staying on for my degree would be the best option to pursue my career in the industry. I will be forever grateful for the continued support which I have received throughout my time here and would recommend Confetti to anybody considering a future in the creative industry.

Your new single is released soon, what can we expect?

BRIA: I feel that this record is a true reflection of me as an artist, it is a great taste of what there is to come in the future.

What was the process like creating the single?

BRIA: Creating this single has been the most amazing experience from start to finish. Having the opportunity to work with such an established producer as Gareth Jones (who has worked with Depeche Mode and Madness) has been an extremely unforgettable experience and has only encouraged me to pursue my goals as a young, female artist.

What do you hope the single will achieve?

BRIA: Everybody involved in the making of this single has poured their heart into it and I am so proud of what we have produced. I can only hope that everybody shares the same love for it as I do.

What can we expect from you in the near future?

BRIA: Following the release of the single, I am really excited to announce I will be playing Splendour 2019 on the Confetti Stage. This is something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember and I feel so privileged to be sharing a stage with many amazing artists.
