Accommodation and Lifestyle
Does Confetti have halls of residence?
As our parent company is Nottingham Trent University (NTU), you’ll get a guaranteed place in NTU accommodation if you study on one of our foundation degrees! You’ll need to make us your ‘Firm Choice’ to benefit from this. With NTU accommodation, you’ll get fantastic locations, free Wi-Fi, excellent security including wardens, CCTV and intercom systems and all utility bills are included.
We always suggest to students that they go and have a look at a few while they’re here for an open day. Some students share houses, and we can put you in touch with other students wishing to share.
Is Nottingham a good place to be a student?
Nottingham is a brilliant place to be a student! Whatever your interest, you’ll be able to indulge it here! Nottingham has an excellent nightlife, cafes, bars and restaurants, independent and mainstream city-centre cinemas, outstanding sports facilities, hundreds of places to visit in the area, and retail therapy to suit all tastes. Our city is a real centre for culture, with major events and concerts at the Royal Concert Hall, the Theatre Royal and the Motorpoint Arena, plus modern art at the new Nottingham Contemporary. And much, much more.
Does Confetti have a Student Union?
As a Confetti student, you’ll be an automatic member of Nottingham Trent Student Union (NTSU) if you study on one of our foundation degrees, giving you access to all their clubs, societies and social events. You can get involved as little or as much as you like. In addition, we have a range of activities organised for you in Antenna, next door, including film showings and music events.
I have a disability - will I have access to the support I need?
We have an on site team of specialists – the Student Support Team – who will be able to help you with any specific difficulties or disabilities you might have. If you have particular needs, please talk to us as soon as you can so we can get the appropriate support in place for when you start your course. Sometimes we may need to make a claim from your local authority on your behalf, which can take time.
Do I have to pay for my course?
If you are 16-18 coming onto any of our Further Education courses you will be funded by the Learning Skills Council and will not need to pay course fees. If you are 19+ you will have course fees to pay but we can often assist with funding so please ask when you enquire as this differs with peoples individual circumstances.
Higher Education students will always have fees to pay, but again funding help is available depending on your circumstances.
I'm worried about the debt I'll be in once I complete my course
Remember, your fees don’t have to be paid up front. You’ll only start paying back the cost of your course once you start earning above £21,000 per year, and then could be paying back as little as £4 a month initially! Even when you’re earning £30,000 per year, you’ll only have to pay back around £68 per month – that’s a couple of nights out or a gym membership!
If I need advice whilst I am at Confetti about fees or accommodation who can I ask?
Absolutely. We have a dedicated Student Support Team based in the main reception area. They are always your first port of call for help with any issues you might have.
