Third time’s the charm: Student Champs Grand Finals return to Confetti

Monday June 19, 2023

We’re thrilled to once again be hosting the Grand Finals of the annual British Esports Student Championships tournament on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June. The British Esports Student Championships is the UK’s largest amateur grassroots esports competition for schools and colleges. Hosted together with our partners, the British Esports Federation, the finals will showcase the very best teams from over 5,000 players competing nationally, representing over 180 unique schools and colleges!

The finals will take place live and in-person at our cutting edge esports facilities, Confetti X. They’ll also be broadcast live on British Esports Twitch channel

Working collaboratively with British Esports is an incredible experience for our staff and most importantly our students. They get to work in all of the key production roles that bring together the full show, whilst working with British Esports as live clients. This has been greatly successful in the past three years of running the finals and we’re looking forward to seeing who will be crowned champions in 2023!

Confetti’s first esports title

Thanks to the mighty Confetti Arrows – our very own collegiate esports team – we go into the Finals with the Division 2 Overwatch title already in the bag!

On Wednesday 17 May, our Confetti Arrows esports team stormed to victory over the South Staffordshire College Serpents to reign supreme over Division 2. Not only did the Confetti Arrows Overwatch team secure our first Student Champs title, our League of Legends and VALORANT teams did us proud too! The Arrows League of Legends came 4th in the National Division (the highest tier of the competition!), and our VALORANT team came 6th in Division 1.

We’re super proud of our Confetti Arrows and their rising star has inspired lots of pride in being a Confetti student. One of our students, Finley, said:

Confetti Arrows star in British Esports podcast

Whilst at this year’s Insomnia Gaming Festival, one of our Confetti Tutor’s, Kyle Cherry, arranged for the captains of our four Confetti Arrows esports teams to appear in recordings for the British Esports Podcast, the BEe Show. Discussing their passion for video games and esports, team captains Kiyren Dhesi & Dylan Baker and Jake Buckley & Eva Morley did an excellent job in representing Confetti and their teams.
