Metronome to be the official hub for Nottingham Poetry Festival

In April, Nottingham Poetry Festival descends on our city once more, bringing live performance, networking and cultural inspiration to many. Our new live performance space Metronome will be the festival’s hub.

Craig Chettle, CEO of Confetti Media Group, is pleased that Metronome will play a key role in the festival, noting that the space ‘has very quickly become an essential part of the cultural fabric of the city, showcasing some incredible talent. We are looking forward to the poetry takeover in April.”

Nottingham is famed for its thriving literary scene, something the festival’s Creative Director Georgina Wilding has experienced first hand.

As Nottingham’s Young Poet Laureate in 2017-2018, Georgina is thrilled to be playing an organisational role in the festival this year, writing “It is an absolute honour to be invited to take on this role. I’ve been lucky enough to see the brilliance of the festival grow and grow over the last few years, and I’m excited to see what I will be able to bring to the mix.”

The full lineup has yet to be announced, but national names including Ian McMillan, Caroline Bird, Lorraine Mariner, Patience Agbabi and many more have been confirmed.

We look forward to seeing a range of performances and talks at Metronome – keep an eye out on our programme and on the festival’s website for more information on the lineup.
