A group of Confetti students were involved with producing the fantastic Industry Week 2021 soundtrack – find out all about the project in this blog.
A small group of students were involved in the creation of the Industry Week 2021 soundtrack after a brief was created by Confetti’s Music and Talent Development teams.
Audio and Music Technology students Thomas Allen, Joe Savage, Charlotte Levene and Tom Fletcher produced a number of tracks to be used as intros, outros and holding music for the week-long virtual event in March.
Industry Week often presents opportunities for student involvement, and this brief created further opportunities for content to be produced for use throughout the week, giving students the chance to showcase some of their work across Confetti, to the public as well as to industry professionals.
James Hutton from the Talent Development team explains why it was so important to offer out this opportunity to students:
“With lockdowns and restrictions in place, it was important for us to make the most of remote working opportunities, and so created a brief which could be successfully completed entirely remotely. Once students were on board, it was great to hear the various tracks and styles which were produced, and during Industry Week itself, it was really good to hear these tracks featured, and be so well-received, as part of the week’s activities.”
John Meredith – Curriculum Leader for Music – works in music production for TV and other media outside of his work at Confetti, making him the perfect mentor for these students during the composition process.
This project, like many others here at Confetti, combines the opportunity to ‘Do It For Real’ with guidance and inspiration provided by our well-versed industry tutors.
