Industry Week 2019 – Day 5

This week has absolutely flown by! On our final day we’ve had some more fantastic talks to end the week on a high – let’s have a look at some of the highlights…

Jack Howard kicked off the final day of Industry Week with a great talk all about his writing and acting experiences, as well as giving an insight into filmmaking and building a career in YouTube.

Chris Cook – visual effects extrordinaire and the man behind Guardian and the Galaxy’s Groot – joined us today from Framestore where he works as lead modeller to talk all things VFX. We definitely had some fans in the audience!

Dave Ambrose – the man behind the signing of Radiohead amongst other incredible artists – delivered a fantastic talk to students about his experiences working in the music industry. His talk provided our music students with some serious inspiration – did you know, he once played in a band with Mick Fleetwood?

Andy Davis joined us today from Facebook, where he works as a senior technical artist. He’s formerly worked for other huge names in the game industry including Rockstar Games, Splash Damage and King.

Last but not least, the results of yesterday’s GameJam came back and our postgraduate students have raised a staggering £185.50 for Rainbows Hospice! Well done to everyone involved.

We’ve also enjoyed talks from audio engineer JP BraddockNick Strang, Arcadia’s Ceri Wade, Cloud Imperium’s Callum Hancock, singer songwriter Ajay HenryLiam Turton from Artstation, edit engineer Lee Byatt, composer Ben Squires, animation/motion capture production engineer Steve Austin, writer and director Marc Price and to top it all off – a DIFR panel with former games students.

From all of us here at Confetti, we’d like to say a big thanks to everyone involved in Industry Week 2019 and we are already looking forward to next year’s!
