Our annual Degree Showcase was held this week, kicking off on Tuesday 4 June with a fantastic night at the Awards Ceremony in Metronome. Here, we share some of the highlights from the evening as well as some great photos from the event.
Inspiring speeches – from students and presenters
We heard some great speeches from presenters like actor Vicky McClure, director Shane Meadows, Framestore’s Max Solomon and many more. Our students did a great job of Oscars-style acceptance speeches, too – bringing laughter and perhaps even a tear to the audience’s eyes.
Fantastic live music performances
The audience enjoyed performances from a Confetti band made up of current and former students; aptly named, the Confetti All Stars. Playing covers of some classics by the likes of Bruno Mars, the bands didn’t fail to impress – there was even an improvised sing-along with the night’s presenter Jackie to bring the night to a close.
Award-winning student work
During the awards ceremony, we were lucky enough to watch some amazing show reels of student work. Clips from films and TV shows, incredible VFX work, games previews, musical performance and technical events were all showcased for the audience to see. It’s safe to say we have some incredibly talented students, and the awards were very well deserved!
We had a great time at this year’s showcase, and look forward to our celebration of our FE students next month at Celebrate!
