Each year we invite Confetti degree students, their friends, and families to our annual showcase, where we display their work and celebrate their achievements. There’s been some exceptional work produced this year, please read on for the highlights including the 2023 ‘Student of the Year’ award winners!
The Confetti Degree Showcase brought together the work of the next generation of creative talent. As part of the event, we celebrated students achievements and handed out awards to the best in class.
‘Student of the Year’ awards went to learners that went above and beyond in their respective courses, as well as the overall ‘Student of the Year’. We also gave out ‘Do It For Real’ (our Confetti mantra) awards to students who have engaged in the most extra-curricular and industry-led projects.
Finally, we handed out special awards in honour of one of our former students, Milo Kelly, who tragically passed away in 2016. In Milo’s memory, ‘Milo Kelly Rising Star’ awards are given out to students who show great promise and there were plenty of those given out this year! The Showcase opened with the debut performance of the new Confetti Single, ‘Our Days’ – Cam Mannix which was live streamed on our Confetti YouTube channel. We had friend of Confetti, Dean Jackson (BBC Radio Nottingham DJ) on hand to introduce the Single live launch and Confetti students across courses (BSc (Hons) Events Production, BA (Hons) Audio and Music Technology, BA (Hons) Music Performance, BSc (Hons) Film Production Technology, and BSc (Hons) TV Production Technology) worked collaboratively to pull off a real ‘Do It For Real’ event: seeing a TV style broadcast being brought together live! What a great way to showcase the fantastic array of talent we have here at Confetti – check out some great photos from the performance below:
You can now watch the music video for ‘Our Days’ by Cam Mannix on YouTube and play it on Spotify and all other good streaming platforms.
