Music Performance student Lucy Crisp’s story

Lucy decided to study what she loves in music performance and hasn’t looked back since, recording music and making the most of our annual Industry Week this year. Find out how Lucy has made it at Confetti this year.

My reason for choosing Music:

I did Biology, Chemistry and Maths A Levels but wasn’t enjoying them at all, and didn’t get the grades I wanted, so I decided to start afresh studying something I really love – music.

My favourite experience last year:

Industry Week, no question. The range of industry guests we got to meet was amazing – I heard talks and watched demos from performance musicians, DJs and record label managers, and got to join in on a songwriting workshop which was so much fun. The MLC (Music Learning Collective) jam session was my favourite moment from the week, though – it was amazing as the MLC Academy had come all the way from the USA for Industry Week!

My support from Confetti:

I’ve found all the staff really supportive, plus lots of the tutors have industry experience too so they really know what they’re talking about.

My favourite part of the course:

I’d have to say Metronome. It’s such a treat having this amazing facility on the Confetti campus, and the whole set-up in the studios and performance space allows you to learn and perform in a real-life venue.

My story next year:

I’m going into my second year of the course, and am really excited to get back and see the tutors and my friends again and see what I can learn this year.
