Metronome

Our campus is home to a number of budding musicians, sound recordists and live events technicians, so we’ve made sure our facilities match that talent allowing you to nurture and develop your sound and your ideas.

We’re proud of our contemporary music and live events hub, Metronome, which has been dubbed an educational centre of ‘European Significance’.  Andy Rogers, Senior Producer at BBC Radio 1Xtra stopped by to record a show: “The facilities at Confetti are excellent and it’s a great place to learn. We recorded a 1Xtra show here earlier this year and were very impressed with the new studio. It was great for both MCs and bands”.

The full range of facilities include:

  • 350 capacity live music venue (for students and live signed bands to perform)
  • 14 rehearsal spaces
  • Five recording studios
  • Mastering, surround sound and post-production studio
  • Critical listening seminar room
  • Live events production workspace

Virtual Tour

Metronome was designed by world-renowned audio architects White Mark Ltd – who have designed studios for clients including Jay-Z and Damon Albarn and gives students access to Exigy and PMC monitors, recording, mixing and mastering suites using Neumann, Schoeps and Studer equipment and production suites running Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton and Arturia V collection 6. The space is also in the process of installing a set of Roland SPD-SX Digital Sampling Pads, and an Orange Rocker 32 DJ unit.

Nick Raphael – Senior Producer at Capitol Records – said following a visit to Confetti that he was “blown away by the campus and the facilities. The opportunities Confetti are giving their students will hopefully benefit the music and the entertainment business of the future.

SSL Duality Delta Installation – Studio 1

To top off our incredible facilities, Studio 1 now houses a 48 channel SSL Duality console as used by Abbey Road, Steve Mac, Chemical Brothers, Pete Townshend and many more big names in the industry. Now that’s something to make a song and dance about.

In July our tech team installed the new SSL Duality Delta console in Studio 1. Check out the installation for yourself!
