Our students are teaming up with one of the UK’s leading companies in the entertainment sector to put on a day of live music, with a shed-load of artists on the bill!
Dot to Dot Festival is an annual music festival held at various venues in Bristol and Nottingham across a weekend. Unlike weekend music festivals such as the Reading and Leeds Festivals, there is no artist rotation – all artists play one city the first day and travel to the other for the following day.
On Sunday 29 May, its Nottingham’s turn to party, with a whole host of hot new talent performing on a stage near you, including Rock City, Rescue Rooms, The Bodega, Rough Trade and many more. The line-up features veteran Grime artist, Ghetts, English post-punk band, Squid, South African singer-songwriter, Baby Queen, Brighton rap and production duo, Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn, and many more.
Dot to Dot is run by DHP Family, the biggest independent promoter in the UK, they operate several award-winning festivals covering a wide range of musical genres, including Beat the Streets and Splendour Festival. Confetti and DHP have been collaborating for many years now providing lots of Do It For Real opportunities for our students and this year’s Dot to Dot Festival will be no different. Students will be on hand to lend their technical expertise in roles such as Artist Liaison Assistant, Production Runner, Stage Rep and Wristband Exchange Assistant.
2nd Year BA Music Performance student, Lucy Crisp, had a great experience working Dot to Dot last year, she said:
“Being a musician myself, working as part of the Artist Liaison team was an all-new experience for me but I really enjoyed working as a team with others to make sure everything ran smoothly, from delivering the rider to giving out the correct wristbands for artists.”
We’re sure students are going to have a fantastic time and make us proud!
