Ace your UCAS personal statement

ucas

We’ve put together a few pointers to help you ace that UCAS personal statement when applying to Confetti.

  • Dotted ‘I’s’ and crossed ‘T’s’

Your statement should be well written, articulate and flow well – double check your spelling and grammar, and give it a good proofread before you press send.

  • Give us a reason

Tell us why you want to study with us; it’s your personal statement – share some of your experiences that have encouraged you to apply.

  • Goals and dreams

Tell us where you want to be post-Confetti – what’s the dream job and how do you think a degree in your chosen subject will help you in the future.

  • Creative background

Outline your experience to date. Whether it’s paid or unpaid, huge project or helping-out-a-mate, let us know what you’ve been involved in.

  • Interests, hobbies and skills

Be sure to list your interests and skills, including any instruments you play, languages you speak, and sports or other activities you participate in.

  • Work experience

Make sure you include any work experience you’ve done (both paid and voluntary) that’s related to your course.

  • Awards & Recognition

Involved in extra-curricular activities? From Young Enterprise to World Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh Award to National Citizen Service, if it demonstrates that you’re reliable and responsible, tell us about it.

  • Check, check and check again

Is everything complete? Use this list to check you’ve added everything you need to and that it’s all spelt correctly. Give it to a few people to read – you may have missed something and the more people that see it, the better.

Remember, even if you’re still not sure about applying to do a degree, there’s still time. Click here to take a look at the degrees we offer and to apply through UCAS.
