Phase One of the Construction of our Digital Media Hub is Complete

Thursday April 27, 2017

Gone in 68 Seconds: Construction of our new Digital Media Hub has reached the end of its first phase!

This new £9.1m facility opens in Summer 2018 and will feature state of the art studios, labs and classrooms, a Learning Resource Centre, a contemporary café and a rooftop terrace. The new Digital Media Hub will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to kick start their creative careers, learning in brand new industry-standard facilities.

We’ve captured all the work so far in our time-lapse video, check it out.

To date, work has involved the demolition of the existing building on Lower Parliament Street, during which there have been significant archaeological finds (including our own caves) that have rewritten the history of Medieval Nottingham. Find out more by visiting our dedicated archaeology page.

It’s a pretty dramatic before and after.

The demolition of our old building and associated works are now complete and we’re ready to move onto the next stage. Stepnell Ltd have been appointed as the constructor for the build and are currently carrying out enabling works for construction, which is due to begin in May.
