Industry Week 2021 countdown begins!

Industry Week 21

This year’s Industry Week will look a little different, but will – as ever – be jam-packed with talks, workshops and demos from industry greats across the globe.

Visit the website now to view guests, events and book your free place!

Industry Week is the highlight of the year for Confetti’s students, and we’re making sure that the current pandemic isn’t stopping us from hosting an action-packed week!

From animators to directors, games designers to sound engineers, we’re bringing the big names to Nottingham (virtually!) to inspire, teach and impress through a series of talks, workshops, demos and game jams; all hosted online.

We’ve got a host of amazing guests lined-up, including our Film & TV headliners who we’ll announce next week. Until then, here’s a peek at just some of them….

Susan Rogers

A pioneer in the music industry, Rogers was Prince’s engineer during the artist’s commercial peak in the late 80s, working on albums such as Sign O’ the Times and Purple Rain, before going on to record, mix and/or produce artists such as the Jacksons, Laurie Anderson, David Byrne and the Barenaked Ladies.

There are very few people on the planet who have such insight into the working process of a genius. Rogers is one and she’ll be sharing that insight with students, as well as dipping into her more recent work in academia to look at the function of music.

Simone Giampaolo

BAFTA-winning animation director Giampaolo has directed a host of short films and commercials for huge brands such as CBeebies, Disney, Google and Pokémon and more.

Giampaolo is a director for Aardman Animations, so keep your eyes peeled for the return of Shaun the Sheep who made a star appearance at last year’s Industry Week as director, Will Becher’s guest.

Brenda and John Romero

Two heavyweights in the ever-growing games industry, John is an acclaimed designer, programmer, and developer; best known for designing some absolutely huge games, including Doom and Quake!

Brenda is an award-winning game designer, Fulbright scholar, entrepreneur, artist, writer, and creative director. Both will be hosting separate workshops before coming together for a live student-led Q&A. Students – now’s the time to start researching and preparing your questions!

We’ll be revealing more details on the awesome line-up for Industry Week, so stay tuned with us on  TwitterFacebook and Instagram.

In the meantime, check out all of the action from last year’s Industry Week below and look out for more details coming soon!
