On Saturday 23 June, our Level 3 Technical Events students gained valuable experience working at RadFest Music Festival – impressing both the event organisers and artists before, during and after the event. Our students also performed on stage, supporting local singer-songwriter Rob Green who has previously performed at the Confetti Christmas Party.

Technical Events students shine

A mix of year 1 and 2 Level 3 Technical Events students did a fantastic job with the setup and management of a variety of tasks. This included lighting, sound, monitors, stage management, artist liaison, backline tech and stage crewing.

Level 3 Technical Events Course Leader, Darren Harding, was very happy with his students:

“They all got so much out of the production and impressed not only the organisers of the event but the artists too. It’s hard work to plan and run events such as this, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to see our learners work so hard and professionally; doing it for real.

One student in particular was so good in her stage management role – she has been asked to work with Rob Green by his manager!”

Music Performance students entertain

Our performance students were invited to Radfest to perform in front of, and entertain the residents of Radcliffe-on-Trent – they didn’t disappoint. Acts Mazy, Marty, The Frantics and Black Cats and Magpies ensured that residents went home talking about the quality on show from Confetti.

There were also great performances from Rob Green, Dollie Demi, Rachel Croft, Youth Hotel and Thea Evans.
