Confetti win Women in Games Award

Thanks to the efforts of Confetti Games Tutor and Postgraduate Course Leader, Kim Western (pictured left) and HE Games Art Tutor, Amelia Roberts (pictured right), Confetti has won a Women in Games award in the ‘Games or Esports Diversity Initiative in Education’ category!

Women in Games:

Women in Games (WIGJ) is a UK-based community interest group on a mission to empower women, from all ethnicities and orientations, to achieve their full potential in the games and esports industries.

Following a nomination for our ‘Coffee and Cookies’ events in the Games or Esports Diversity Initiative – Education Award category; Confetti were announced as winners on 24 September at the Women in Games Global Awards event.

Coffee and Cookies:

Created by Confetti Games Tutor and Postgraduate Course Leader, Kim Western (pictured left), with the support of BA (Hons) Games Art tutor, Amelia Roberts (pictured right; Coffee and Cookies is a regular event hosted on campus.

The event supports female students with an interest in the games industry and is home to a community of creatives. It offers women on campus an opportunity to network and collaborate in a supportive environment that encourages more women in the industry.
