Students work on project for Nottingham’s Pulp Friction

Pulp Friction

Level 3 VFX and Animation students at Confetti have produced some brilliant work for local social enterprise Pulp Friction.

At Confetti, we promise all of our students the opportunity to ‘Do It For Real’, so during lockdown Level 3 VFX students were tasked with working on a project for local social enterprise business Pulp Friction.

The project was to update and create materials to promote handwashing within the organisation, using information from a training book their teams currently use.

Lucy Greaves – T Level Placement Manager – helped set up the project:

“We wanted to offer a contribution to a social enterprise and thought it would be a great experience for the students to design some work for an different audience – adults with learning difficulties.

We forged the link with Pulp Friction and hope to continue to produce work for them in the future.”

Angela Warren, who is Artist in Residence at Pulp Friction, is thrilled with how the project has gone and impressed by our students’ work.

“The Handwashing project came about as we thought that it would be a great way to have an inclusive and more mainstream approach to our learning if we had talented Confetti students working with us.

A lockdown project was devised whereby Confetti students could work remotely and safely with the support of tutor Jacky Gurr.

Handwashing is not only relevant in a Covid world. Pulp Friction provides catering training for our members and the Confetti posters and mascot will remind us constantly of the importance of washing hands.

Thank you so much Jacky and Lucy- it has been a great project – I have very much enjoyed seeing the creativity and sensitive approach of your students.”
