Where are last year’s Degree Showcase winners now?

Tuesday May 28, 2019

Last year’s Degree Showcase saw some amazing student work and some very deserving wins. We got in touch with three former Confetti students who were crowned winners at last year’s event to see what they’re up to now and what projects they’re working on.

Jack Goode won the Audio & Music Technology Student of the Year award in 2018, and since graduating he’s gone down a fantastic, fulfilling career path teaching music in a SE school.

“I am now working as a full time music specialist in a school for children with Special Educational Needs between the age of 3 and 19. Within this role I have used the music technology skills I learnt at Confetti to enable the students develop their exploration and creation of music.”

Robert Bednarski picked up a win for Games Technology and Production Student of the Year and has since begun working in quality assurance testing for games giant Codemasters.

“I am now working at Codemasters as a Quality Assurance Technician, and as of now, I can say that I am working on the newly announced GRID! As a lover of racing games, its great to be working at Codemasters, and putting the skills and knowledge that I gained at Confetti to good use.”

Each year, the Milo Kelly Rising Star Award is given in memory of former Confetti student Milo Kelly who tragically passed away.

Last year, Kieren Hayes – a Games Art student – won the award, and has since moved into freelancing and launching his own environmental art company.

“I’m still studying at Confetti and focusing a lot more on CG realism. Looking for work, but still yet to have a job, but I still do little freelance jobs for small start up studios. I am also working on a small company myself for fun and a bit of money called ArnoLeo. I am aiming to get a job as either an environment prop artists, creature artist or texture artist.”

We look forward to seeing what our fantastic graduates work on in years to come! In the meantime, it’s almost time to crown this year’s winners at the 2019 Degree Showcase.
