Following on from the success of last year’s scholarships, we are pleased to run them again for our 3rd year BSc (Hons) Audio & Music Technology and BA (Hons) Music Performance students in partnership with our friends at Tileyard Education.
Tileyard will be providing an industry brief to write/cowrite a song with commercial viability. This will be followed by a shortlisting process in a Professional Tileyard A&R listening panel, taking place during Confetti Industry Week, beginning Monday 6 March. The two winners will go to London later this year to take part in one of Tileyard’s Songwriting Camps. Travel and hotel will be included in the award.
“Tileyard Education Songwriting Camps are a great way to develop your craft writing to live commercial briefs and build crucial co-writer and producer collaborations. We are delighted to be working closely with Confetti and look forward to meeting you and eventually hearing your music.” – Harry Leckstein, Managing Director, Tileyard Education
How to apply
To apply, first student needs to request the Tileyard supplied brief from john.meredith@confetti.ac.uk. Students should use the supplied brief to write a submission, or submit an alternative commercial song. This could be collaborative: for example one person may write the music and produce, and the other might write the top line and lyrics. You will need to identify your contributions as part of the submission process.
Email streamable links (e.g. Soundcloud) to john.meredith@confetti.ac.uk by Friday 24 February.
Nearer to the deadline, our Music Curriculum Lead, John Meredith, will curate Soundcloud links for the A&R panel shortlisting process.
Final winners will be decided based on the panel and course engagement.
The Tileyard Scholarship is a great way to recognise Confetti students with the potential to work in the professional songwriting world: taking part in professional camps is a genuinely great next step to earning money from music. We also look forward to welcoming Tileyard to Confetti on Friday 10 February for a songwriting camp… more details to follow!’ – John Meredith, Confetti Music Curriculum Leader
