About Merryn
My time spent at Confetti has been invaluable. Over the past two years I have learnt multitudes and gained twice the confidence I originally had. Not only have I learnt in the classroom, I’ve also had the opportunity to learn-on-the-job, primarily through Notts TV. This has given me a wealth of extra TV experience that I would not have learnt whilst sticking solely to the Film Production Technology course. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to broaden my horizons.

Merryn’s Degree Showcase Work
At the showcase this year, I primarily showed my work from my second year, as I have found my skillset has improved drastically from one year to the next. However, I did show my first year film ‘Red Door’ alongside my second year film ‘James’ as I am proud of my progression.
I am staying on to do the BSc next year, my main aim being to take what I’ve learnt on to develop my independence. I aim to not see the course as a means of study, but a means of creation. I have developed a great team around me over the past two years, and I really hope that next year will build on that and give everyone the chance to shine that they deserve.
For now, over the summer, I will be writing, creating, and helping on sets wherever I can. If there’s one thing Confetti has taught me, it’s grab every experience as it comes, and gather as much experience from it as you can.
