It’s nearly time for us all to head to the polling station on Thursday 4 May, the local elections is an opportunity to have your voice heard on policies that directly effect your local community. As a student, you may be eligible to vote in Nottingham and your home city, this will be dependent on if you are registered in both locations.

You can locate your nearest polling station by entering your postcode into this government checker. The times may vary at your local polling station, so be sure to check and plan accordingly so you aren’t disappointed.
Photo ID:
Photo identification is now required for you to be able to vote.
When attending to vote this year, please remember you need to bring a valid form of Photo ID with you. The ID can be expired, as long as you can still be identified and look similar in the photo.
To be able to vote, you must be 18 years of age. If you have not registered to vote already, please be aware that the deadline for registering has passed. For future elections, you can register by following these government guidelines.
