A showcase event for Nottingham’s Young Creative Awards 2015 is to be staged in the newly revamped Trinity Square on Friday 24th October. And our BTEC Level 3 Technical Events students couldn’t be more involved, providing all the tech and set up for the event.
The awards, sponsored by Confetti Media Group, offer young people the opportunity to take part in a citywide creative competition, and win a mixture of cash and other prizes, such as mentoring opportunities and work experience which will enable them to further their creative industry careers.
The showcase event aims to showcase the work of entrants and winners from last year’s awards.
Displays include photography and film, and there will be live performances from young musicians including Connor Spray who was highly commended last year.
“Our students are only a few weeks into their course and already they’ve organised and run several high profile events, including a Hockley Hustle event at Antenna and our Fresher’s party. It’s essential to us that our students get as many real-life opportunities as possible” said course leader Darren Harding.
Technical Events student Kim Horton added: “It’s pretty amazing the type of events we get to work on – even more so considering we’ve only just started term! We’re all really looking forward to working on tomorrow’s event.”
