Ariana Marrin-Cleal – a Level 3 Graphic Design student is celebrating after her “cultural rucksack” wall planner is to be displayed in schools across the city.
Confetti’s Graphic Design and Digital students worked to a live brief set by ChalleNGE to produce a wall planner depicting some of the cultural activities and hot spots on offer in Nottingham. Over 1000 copies of Ariana’s design have been printed and distributed to teachers.
In addition, Ariana secured a summer work placement with ChalleNGe and designed an illustrative map which will feature on the ChalleNG2 website to help teachers plan activities and trips for their pupils.
Cathy Mahmood,ChalleNGe Manager comments:
‘It has been an absolute pleasure working with Ariana over the summer. I’ve no doubt Ariana has a fabulous future in graphic design and illustration ahead of her and we’ve loved the opportunity to work with her.’
Working to live briefs is a huge part of studying at Confetti. Working with and for industry professionals on real-world projects offers students invaluable opportunities to Do it for Real
Ariana adds:
“ChalleNGe Nottingham have given me a great insight to the cultural sector in Nottingham, I now know more places in and around Nottingham that all work closely together to support educational institutes. I have gained a range of skills whilst working with ChalleNGe and have learnt the importance of documents being ready for print. I plan on using this valuable experience to apply for Graphic Design apprenticeships in the future”.
