Four of our Event Production and Esports students – Ant Loannou, Barnaby Like, Aiden Parr and Abi Skelton – got hands on backstage at Boomtown Festival this summer.
Our students got a taste for what their future holds as they worked as tech assistants and production assistants alongside the professionals, getting valuable industry hours whilst studying.
Curious to see how they got on? Check out our latest TikTok to catch all the action!
Ant shared his highlights:
“The best thing about the Boomtown placement was experiencing the ‘behind the scenes’ moments on the run up to a large-scale festival before any audience members get there.
It was a huge insight to the live events industry and a great opportunity to network with like-minded people.”
Aiden added:
“My placement at Boomtown allowed me to make connections in the industry with a variety of companies. I worked as a Technical Assistant on Grand Central Stage, setting up comms systems and reversal kit for the opening ceremony.
I enjoyed working with the team and getting an understanding for how a festival works. I would recommend the placement as it gives you a foot in the door into the industry and allows you to start your own network of potential future employers.”
Congratulations to Ant, Barnaby, Aiden and Abi on a successful placement, we can’t wait to see what you do next!
