Content Creation students get off to a flying start!

Friday October 14, 2022

Our BA (Hons) Content Creation students are having a great time developing their skills in video production, image manipulation and editing!

Confetti’s new Content Creation course has got off to a flying start. BA (Hons) Content Creation is a brand new degree course launched in September 2022. It supports learners in mastering the art of producing compelling content that cuts through the noise, and is perfect for the next generation of entrepreneurs who have the creative and technical mindset to influence and drive change.

Our Content Creation students have been at it for a few weeks now and have been learning all about how to create their own brand by writing their own social media strategy. They’ve also had some hands-on practical lessons with cameras, lenses and lighting, as well as some lessons on editing and digital design. We spoke to Course Leader, Jacky Gurr to find out more about the course in action and to find out what’s coming up for our students:

“This is a really dynamic course with a variety of students with different interests, whether this be online gaming and streaming or fitness and the gym – the course caters to them all – teaching them all the practical technology skills and the business skills needed to be successful when they leave university.

“We have lot’s of exciting opportunities for students coming up, such as creating content for Hockley Hustle and for gigs at Metronome. Our students are also working on promoting the next issue of Pitch Magazine where they are creating content for Pitch’s social media channels over the next few months”

How our students are finding the course:

“When I saw the Content Creation course at Confetti it sparked my interest as I am really interested in editing. So far it has ticked all of the boxes, we have done photography with Jake, editing with Ja’maul and theory with Jacky  – it’s reassuring and I know it’s the right course for me!” – Richard Vaughan-Evans

“This course makes me realise I can be myself at uni, being surrounded by like-minded and creative people! All the equipment here, computer-based and the camera tech, is all up to date and gives me time and space to experiment, which is what I wanted form uni” – Levi Smith

“Walking down the slope in Metronome and seeing all of the creative things on the tv screens, then walking into the photography studio – that’s when it really hit me that I am at uni!” – Dan Stockton
