Upcoming events for young creatives

This autumn, the Young Creative Awards will be hosting a series of events showcasing the brilliant work of Nottingham’s young creatives, including our amazing Confetti students and alumni! From animation and film screenings, to live music and poetry, and outdoor photography and fashion exhibitions. Check out these upcoming events and grab some free tickets.

Young Creative Awards

The Young Creative Awards (YCA) is an organisation that celebrates the creativity of Nottingham’s young people, aged 11 to 24. Their annual awards competition gives a vibrant snapshot of the issues occupying the minds of our city’s young creatives. This year, the Awards received entries from more than 500 young people from all over Nottingham. Key themes included young people’s mental health, the environment and the impact of social media. The events this autumn celebrate the 2022 YCA winners, expect live music, dance, readings, textile exhibitions – prepare to have fun and be inspired!

Saturday 3 September (11am – 12pm)
YCA 2022 Animation & Film Screening at Broadway Cinema
Featuring 16 films by winners and finalists in this year’s Film, Animation & Digital Media, and Dance categories.

Young Creative Showcase at Sneinton Market
Presented in partnership with Creative Quarter, Sneinton Market Avenues’ plaza will be transformed into a vibrant live expo, presenting a diverse line-up of musicians, poets and performers (YCA 2022 winners/finalists, plus winners from previous years). As well as live performances, enjoy a unique outdoor exhibition of photography, visual art, fashion & textiles, graphic design and architecture by some of Nottingham’s most exciting young creative talents.

YCA Music Showcase at Metronome
Captivating soul/pop singer-songwriter Rob Green headlines a celebration of Nottingham’s Young Creative Awards, In association with The Hustle Collective. Also featuring recent winners/finalists: Ellie Stainsby, Oscar Marshall, Charity Stow and Jack Chapman.
