This year’s Nottinghamshire County Show returns for the first time in two years on Saturday 14 May, and our Confetti and NTU students will be supporting.
Thousands of people from across the region, including farmers, exhibitors, local producers and members of the public, are expected to attend the event at Newark Showground to enjoy a host of activities including entertainment, music, livestock displays, a family-friendly dog show and a food and drink festival.
Professor Edward Peck, Vice-Chancellor at Nottingham Trent University and a farmer himself, is the Show’s current President. He will be welcoming a group of students and staff from the NTU School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences who will be providing a behind the scenes look at life on NTU’s Brackenhurst campus.
A combined film crew of students from the NTU Centre for Broadcast Journalism and our Confetti Film and Television Production courses will be filming the day’s events for a special feature on Notts TV on Monday 16 May. A number of our Live and Technical Events students will also Do It For Real on the day alongside Confetti tutors and tech teams.
We’re especially excited for one of the stand-out events of the day – the Young Farmers Association’s lawnmower race! A team from NTU will be taking part in this year’s race, be sure to come along, have some fun and cheer them to victory!
