On Tuesday 10 January we hosted our college to degree progression evening to discuss with our existing students why they should choose Confetti when applying for their degree. In case you missed it, here’s why you should continue your studies with us…
Why a career in the Creative Industries?
We live in an exciting time where technology informs and supports almost everything we do. As this world expands, the industries that support it grow – offering exciting opportunities for people who choose to make a career within them.
At Confetti we continuously follow key market trends to ensure we’re offering courses and qualifications to satisfy these markets, creating confident professionals who are job-ready.
Why choose Confetti?
We’re not like other colleges. We’re a specialist creative industry education and training centre and we’re home to the very best technology, studios and equipment, industry-connected tutors and over 1300 passionate and committed students. Our graduates go on to careers in music, gaming, TV, film, live events, graphic design and many more.
Study at Confetti and you’ll find your inspiration in some of the most successful players across the creative industries.
Industry Week – the only event of its kind in the UK
Take Industry Week – a unique insight from some of the UK’s most influential practitioners, we go off timetable for a week of workshops, seminars and talks. Our heavy-weights have included the likes of Game of Thrones star Joe Dempsie, Radio 1Extra’s Mistajam and MOBO award-winning artist, Professor Green. With 3D model-making from Wallace & Gromit creators – Aardman, gaming techniques from the people behind Call of Duty and technical event tips from the founder of Glastonbury – Industry Week is the ultimate student experience.
Benefit from our industry partners
Confetti also runs a number of commercial businesses – film and TV production company Spool, record label Denizen, creative business hub Antenna and education furniture design and manufacturer Constellations.
We are also partners with Nottingham’s successful television station Notts TV, which broadcasts 24/7 on Virgin, Sky and Freeview to over 5 million homes across Notts and the East Midlands. All of these commercial businesses offer our students unique opportunities to get first-hand industry experience, from getting signed to our record label, to working behind the scenes on live TV programmes and meeting creative businesses to establish great contacts.
To top it all, we are part of Nottingham Trent University – meaning if you choose to stay on and study a degree with us – you will graduate from one of the country’s leading and most popular universities.
Our Courses
Foundation degrees are intended to give a basic knowledge in a subject to enable the holder to go on to employment or further study in that field. They are normally offered by universities and further education colleges working in partnerships. Our FdSc and FdA qualifications are offered in partnership with Nottingham Trent University.
Once you’ve decided on the course you’ll need to submit your UCAS application by Sunday 15 January. Go check out our ‘How to apply’ section to help with your application.
