We were delighted when, earlier this year, one of our talented Confetti graduates, Ellie Torrance recently joined our Education team. Ellie (pictured) studied on our BA (Hons) Music Performance course from 2019 to 2022 and received the ‘Student of the Year’ award when she graduated. Ellie now works at our Nottingham campus and is having a huge impact on her students.
Alongside her day job, Ellie continues to pursue her passion for music, and has recently released an EP full of new tracks. Most of the songs were written whilst she was studying and all were recorded in our Metronome studios with the support of Confetti students and tutors. Ellie describes the release as the end of a brilliant chapter in her life, she said:
“The songs on the EP feel like a representation of my journey as a musician from 2018-2022. I played guitar and sang from a young age but just didn’t feel confident performing in front of people and didn’t know where to start when it came to pursuing music.
“I had never been in a recording studio before I came to Confetti, and I had barely any experience writing music. The course and its lovely tutors helped me to develop so many skills, I learned how to compose, to use a DAW, to collaborate and perform, and became an artist.”
Ellie’s recently secured funding with YouthMusic to write and record new music in a project managed entirely by herself. Excited to begin her next chapter, Ellie said:
“This is something I never would have dreamed of before attending Confetti. I’m really grateful for how Confetti has helped me become the person I am now and it’s the reason I have been able to share my music with the world.”
