Exciting new partnership with Access to Music
We are pleased to announce a new, national partnership with further education provider Access to Music (AtM). From September 2017, we will be running our further education courses in collaboration with Access to Music – a national college offering creative courses for school leavers in nine major cities across the country. We count musician Jake Bugg and actor Vicky McClure amongst our ambassadors and we'll soon celebrate a quarter of a century as a leading creative industry educator. Film & TV student directs his first short film ‘Catharsis’
Here at Confetti we openly encourage students to work on and get creative with their own projects in their free time. Confetti at Splendour Festival – Do It For Real
On one of the hottest days of 2016, 21,000 people gathered in Wollaton Park for Splendour Festival. Nottingham’s biggest outdoor event celebrated its ninth year on Saturday 23 July 2016 with performances from Jamie Lawson, UB40 and Jess Glynne amongst many others. Confetti was once again a main sponsor and our students worked alongside our technical teams to help bring Splendour festival to life. The Confetti Stage hosted big names, such as The Fratellis, The Rifles and headline act The Darkness, whilst Confetti-band Super Furniture opened the main stage after winning the Future Sound of Nottingham accolade. Heart of Chaos
Confetti Film & TV Production students got to #DoItForReal this morning and it kicked off with a 3am start! Early birds in Nottingham were left a bit shocked to see Old Market Square cordoned off, men with guns running around and a motorbike drive into the Nottingham Council House. Don’t worry though, it’s the filming for new action film Heart of Chaos, written and directed by local stunt man Adam Collins and co-directed by Confetti TV & Film Production tutor Luke Radford. Level 3 BTEC Film & TV Production students Seb Hawkins and Alex Butler have got their final major project off to a flying start! At the end of the course, Level 3 BTEC Film & TV Production students bring together the knowledge they have gained over their time at Confetti to create a professional product (from music videos to short films) that showcases their skills Seb’s family are really into their motorsport and his dad is a rally car driver (yeah pretty sick, we know!). Confetti Students Win Big at Nottingham Young Creative Awards

Hundreds of people attended the 8th Nottingham Young Creative Awards, which aim to give people aged 13 to 24 who live, study or work in Nottingham the chance to show off their creative work, network with future employers and gain valuable industry experience and mentoring. This year a record 350 young creatives submitted their work in 10 different categories to meet the ‘Goals and Dreams’ theme. The Voice Comes to Confetti!
Our music and performance students are busy warming up their vocal chords in preparation for the chance to audition for music reality show The Voice. ITV is beginning its search for contestants for the new series of The Voice with closed auditions for Confetti students only, taking place on Tuesday 3 May. Industry Week Highlight – Jon Harris
  Oscar-nominated film editor Jon Harris - who has edited 127 Hours, Kick Ass, and The Woman in Black, (to name but a few…) took to the Arts Theatre to share his knowledge, and give us a glimpse into the life of a successful editor. Jon grew up making short films as a child, all of which he acted in, filmed, and edited himself. His passion grew from there, and he went on to complete a film course at Harrow in London. Industry Week Highlight – Barry Ryan
As head of production at Warp Films – Barry Ryan shared his experiences of producing films & TV shows. Warp Films first began as Warp Records in 1989, CEO Mark Herbert expressed his concern with trying to push visual artists. Following this they soon became Warp Films – Dead Man’s Shoes became the first feature – length film produced. The company also worked with director Shane Meadows to produce This Is England, and decided to continue the success with a TV series, as they wanted to re-visit the characters and explore their interests. Confetti students are the new ‘voice of the network’
Nottingham City Transport has enlisted the help of our students to become the voices of its new on-board audio announcements. And it was their sense of humour as well as their vocal skills the city’s award-winning bus operator was after... With 75% of the buses across the fleet having on-board announcements – NCT have decided to add a touch of humour to their recordings.
