Alfie Wallace, Niall Hopkins, Caine Laskowski and Cam Hinge were awarded the gear by Focusrite Lead Hardware Designer, Danny Nugent, for their phenomenal applications. Each student took home a bundle of equipment including the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio, Launchkey 37 MkIII and ADAM Audio T7Vs. The new gear is perfect for home recording, song writing and music production.

The applications:

To enter, each student was required to submit the following:

  • Create a short video, telling us who you are, why you are studying on the course, and why the scholarship would be great for your creative career progression.
  • Compose a track with no real boundaries.
  • Share a presentation (10 minutes max) of the project (why that song, how they made it etc.) in either a video format or via a recorded presentation.

Submissions were shortlisted by industry specialists across some of the best known brands within the Focusrite Group: Focusrite, Adam and Novation and the winners were chosen by the Confetti course teams based on potential and studentship.

Senior Vice President Focusrite Group EMEA, Nick Venables, had this to say about Confetti and our students:

“The Focusrite Group and Confetti have had a strong relationship over many years. The philosophy and culture at Confetti is highly impressive, and the opportunities they offer are incredible. Indeed, as a former student myself I have benefited from Confetti’s success story, and long may it continue ! We are proud to be involved with the scholarship and have our name alongside Confetti.”

One of the scholarship winners, BA (Hons) Music Performance student Alfie Wallace said:

“The main thing I will be using this for is to bolster my home recording and try to be a more affluent producer.”

Our Head of HE Music and Events, John Meredith, added:

“I’m over the moon to have four deserving students win these studio packs which will support their future recording and composition careers…. And to have companies such as Focusrite, Novation and Adam on board really does mean they have the best chance to do some amazing work…we can’t wait to hear what they use the gear for!”
