Notts TV – Technical/Production

Starting my degree level education with Confetti a few years ago on the FdSc Television Production, I always wanted to top up my degree to a full BSc and waited until this was offered by Confetti. Confetti is really unique, it offers hands on industry practice and it’s smaller than other Universities, so you’re not just a face in the crowd. I received a lot of support from my tutors during my FdSc and I don’t think I would have gotten the same if I had attended a larger institution.

As you’d expect my course is a lot of work, but you get the support to do the best you can. Everything we’re taught is up to date with current industry standards, including the kit we work with! Having our own HE centre and the new Space2 facility is great for all the resources we have access to – being able to use NTU facilities is a bonus.

Confetti has given me great industry opportunities – after completing my FdSc in Television Production, Confetti awarded me a year’s paid internship within the Confetti Media Group. My hard work paid off and I was offered a contract for a full-time position. I started off my career as a technician, then moving on to Spool as a Visual Editor and now I’m working for Notts TV. I do a bit of everything for Notts TV, I make a lot of the graphics for the channel, such as idents and title sequences, I edit quite a few of the shows as well as filming and doing sound for the news and 6:30 Show. I’ve gained invaluable experience in the industry I want to work in.

We still have places available on our FdSc TV Production Technology course and our BSc Television Production top up degree. Call 0115 848 6000 to secure your place and start a degree with us this September!
