College-level Music Performance students have started using the brand new new college-level music studios in Metronome.
2020 has started in a very exciting way for the college-level Music Performance and college-level Music Technology students. All college students studying music courses are now using the brand new college-level recording studios in Metronome.
Over £0.5m has been invested to build three new college-level recording studios, replacing the former studios in the old Confetti basement. The college-level Music Performance students are feeling the benefits of using the new studios already, in particular Olivia Hopkinson .
“The studios feel more professional than what we were using before, with much better facilities”.
The studios were designed by White Mark Ltd – one of the world’s leading studio design teams. It features a series of three interconnecting control rooms and live rooms, which will allow students to record from multiple locations.
Studio four is the biggest control room in the entire facility and features a brand new Audient ASP 4816 console and Dynaudio Acoustic M2 monitoring.
FE Music Performance student, May Chamberlain has found the extra space and larger studios helpful.
“It’s great that everyone can get a room to do our own thing in, without getting interrupted as there’s so much more space now”.
Bobbi Chambers – another FE Music Performance student – is also enjoying using the new facilities.
“The studios are more comfortable than the ones we were in before and have helped with my studies. It feels like you’re working in a professional studio”.
