Two incredible productions hosted at Confetti venues have taken home Royal Television Society awards this month.

Game On! for BBC Children In Need, held in Confetti X, and the Kanneh-Mason Family documentary, featuring a performance in Metronome, both earned top honours.

BBC Studios who produced Game On! said: “Confetti X provided us with the facilities, skills and people needed to deliver a project as ambitious as Game On! For BBC Children in Need.

“The esports arena and backstage areas allowed us to really push the boundaries with our production and their tech and expertise on gaming guided us throughout. It was the ideal venue for the show.”

The project involved over 70 talented students across courses including Content Creation, Esports, Event Production and TV & Film. This hands-on opportunity offered students an unparalleled chance to work on a high-profile production.

Meanwhile, East Midlands production company, MacLarty Brown Media won the Diversity Champion Award for their 2023 BBC2 documentary, ‘The Hills Are Alive with the Kanneh-Masons’. The Nottingham-based family of seven have been dubbed the ‘real-life Von Trapps’ from The Sound of Music. The documentary followed their trip to Salzburg and their performances of classic songs from the great soundtrack were filmed in Metronome.

A huge well done to all the staff and students that were involved in coordinating these two events. Your hard work continues to make Confetti a hub for world-class creative achievements!
