We’re delighted to announce our involvement in this year’s Hockley Hustle. The local music and arts festival is back in Nottingham on Sunday 22 October, raising money for a range of great causes. Confetti students will be “Doing It For Real” supporting the festival organisers, read on to find out more about this year’s Hockley Hustle
Hockley Hustle is an annual one-day music and arts festival in Nottingham (centred around the Hockley area), featuring 350 artists over 35+ stages including our very own Metronome and Antenna.
Running since 2006 (originally as part of Oxjam), the festival has raised over £500,000 for Nottinghamshire charities and communities. This year donations will be split across five local charities, including Emmanuel House, Base 51, SFiCE Foundation, B’Me Cancer Communities and Imara.
Organised by the Hustle Collective, a family of experienced freelancers from many backgrounds, this year’s festival is set to be the biggest-ever. We’re proud to have a long-standing relationship with the Hustle Collective which sees Confetti students lend their expertise to other collaborations like Metronome Sessions and the Nottingham Poetry Festival.
Supported by our Education and Technical teams, Confetti students will ‘Do It For Real’ at Hockley Hustle with involvement from many of our degree courses, including Event Production, Music Business, Music Performance, Content Creation, Event Management and Film and TV. We’ll also have our own stage, ‘Confetti Presents’ over at Bunkers Hill where we’ll be showcasing lots of incredible Confetti artists!
Many of our students and alumni will rock the Hockley Hustle stages, here’s a short of list of who to look out for: GoodGoodBye, Tracy Luvv, PASTE., Marvin’s Revenge, The Publics, LYVIA, The Chase, Alfie Sharp , Luna and The Lime Slices, Kyoto Skies, COURTNEY, Alfie Wallace, Cam Mannix, Blu Syrup, Bill Sage, Steven Willis, Laddz, Airport Dad, Sancho Panza, Unified Roots, Fakers, Molly Hindley , Eli, Badhand, and lots more!

Hockley Hustle at Metronome
Our live music and events venue, Metronome, will be one of the stages hosting Hockley Hustle this year. Students will be supporting behind the scenes – visit the Metronome website to find out their line-up.
Industry Day at Antenna Nottingham
Our neighbours, Antenna, a media production centre for enterprise, creativity and innovation, will be delivering an Industry Day event on Saturday 21 October, one day ahead of the festival. In partnership with DIY collective Ladies Music Pub, Antenna will host a jam-packed day of workshops, artists surgeries and panel talks on management, marketing, funding, labels and making the music industry safer and more inclusive.
The event will bring the UK’s best and brightest industry professionals to Nottingham, including A&Rs, artist managers, publishers, record labels and promoters. Confirmed speakers include our friends, Ezra Collective, plus Yazmin Lacey’s manager, Amy Frenchum, Sophie Ahmed of Saffron Records, Selassie Tevie of Brownswood Recordings, and BBC 6Music producer Shola Aleje.
There will also be representatives from companies and collectives such as Queer Notts Zine, Touching Bass, Bluecoat Management, and more. Free to attend, it’s a great opportunity to network with industry insiders from across the country looking to develop and nurture the thriving Notts creative scene.
Hockley Hustle is a huge event for the Nottingham creative community and we’re looking forward to playing our part. The funds raised will benefit some incredible causes close to our hearts and we encourage everyone to get involved. Grab your tickets on the Hockley Hustle website and be sure to tune into our social media channels, where we will be keeping you updated across the day!
