Confetti student aims for Number 1
Ex-Confetti student Harleighblu is celebrating this week after releasing her debut album. Entitled “Forget me not”, Harleighblu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of some of Nottingham’s musical alumni including Dog Is Dead and Jake Bugg. Harleighblu studied Level 3 Music Technology here at Confetti and all her previous tutors speak incredibly highly of her and her talent. Harleighblu is now hoping her album release will become the first of many successes and Monday saw a Twitter campaign to help rally support for Harleighblu and help her gain as much national and international attention online as possible. From Convent Street to Abbey Road – Confetti students follow in legendary footsteps
Students studying music technology at Confetti followed in some famous musical footsteps yesterday when they spent the day at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Level 3 Music Technology Rock and Live students from Confetti had the experience of a lifetime when they took part in a recording session at Abbey Road Studio 2. Studio 2 is where the Beatles recorded their material. Leading up to the event Confetti held an internal competition to find a student band to record an EP on the day and Hometown Hero were the lucky winners. Confetti students celebrate win at the Nottingham Young Creative Awards
The Young Creative Awards took place at the Nottingham Playhouse on Monday evening and Confetti students were amongst the winners. The winning entry for the 19-24 bracket for Animation and Digital Media was from Confetti HE Games Technology students, Tom Russell, Barry Martin and Josh Chaplin. All 3 students  are studying a Foundation Degree at Confetti ICT. The Young Creative Awards were launched in 2009 to attract up and coming creative talent in the city and put young people in Nottingham on the creative map. New Confetti course gets Glastonbury backing!
A brand new Nottingham course in Technical Events Production has received the endorsement of Mark Cann, Michael Eavis’ second in command at Glastonbury Festival. In recommending the new BTEC extended diploma, he described it as “a fantastic launch pad for a technical career in events production.” Confetti is a custom-designed facility which specialises in courses in Music Technology, TV & Film production and Games Technology. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg visits Confetti
Students at Confetti welcomed a special visitor yesterday in the shape of Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. He was in Nottingham looking at how Government City Deal money of £60m could benefit creative businesses and young people. He was taken on a tour of Confetti and the Antenna Creative Business Centre by Confetti Media Group boss Craig Chettle. The Deputy Prime Minister met students on the Games Technology, Music Technology and TV and Film courses and observed their lessons.
